It’s also understandably popular, so if you plan to have a party for your Brisbane Kid, then get there early!
Grande Park — The Fun
A favourite for many families, Grande Park at Springfield Lakes has so much to offer for a fun-filled day out. Top of the list is the huge, fully-fenced playground area, giving parents and carers peace of mind that your Brisbane Kids can’t run off. The playground has all the usual play equipment that you would expect in a modern playground, plus plenty of bells and whistles to make it extra special.
There are swings and slides, bouncers and spinners, plus fort structures for big kids and little kids. There’s lots of climbing equipment, with a tall climbing net and climbing nets up a hill. Kids will love scrambling up, then racing each other down in the twin slides built into the hill on the other side.
One of the most exciting features of this park is the traffic track with road markings, traffic lights, stop signs and other signage. Benches nearby mean you can sit back and relax while your little ones explore this fun driving area on their bikes or scooters. There are also some lovely recreational pathways for anyone on wheels to get around the beautiful green areas of this park.
The park also boasts two fenced tennis courts and a fenced basketball/netball court. The facilities are all new and gleaming and a pleasure to play on. There are also wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities, water bubblers, and a dog off-leash area near the playground, just across the road.
Set in beautiful natural surrounds, this park is filled with trees and offers a beautiful green space to explore, not far from the city. There are open grassy spaces for ball games and running around, as well as electric barbecues, sheltered picnic tables and benches. With so much on offer, this is a great park to visit for any locals and also those who live further afield! (At around 30 minutes’ drive from both Ipswich and Brisbane cities, it is well worth the trip!)
Brisbane kids can test their inner ninja warrior skills by planning an obstacle course race through this awesome park. They’ll be climbing over blocks, scrambling up nets and sliding down hillside slides to see who can cross the finish line first!
Little kids can set up an ice cream shop or play boat games on the great fort play structure for younger kids. Plus those of all ages will love testing out and honing their driving skills on the awesome traffic track. Little truck drivers, postal workers and motorcyclists will spend hours negotiating the roads, interacting with pedestrians and enjoying the natural scenery on their travels.
Grande Road Park has wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities. Several picnic shelters are scattered throughout the park. The playground is fully fenced and partly shaded by shade sails. There are several flat bike and walking paths around the park for wheelchair and pram access.
