★★★★ “The show is gilded with comedy that had all ages laughing with raucous enthusiasm, and the music keeps the carousel turning at a frenetic pace.” Brisbane Times

If you are looking for a show the whole family can enjoy together over the Christmas holidays, then look no further than Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus. Circa, the internationally-renowned creative circus geniuses behind Carnival of the Animals and Circa Zoo, are returning to QPAC as part of the ‘Summer at QPAC’ holiday program with a modern-day story featuring circus, magic, and musical madness.

Parent Review

This show is engaging for children and adults alike, with an enchanting mix of dance, music and circus arts combined in an entertaining and original way.

My 6-year-old was holding her breath for the daring acrobatic tricks and balances and hooting with laughter during the clowning.

The slapstick style interaction between the two performers on stage was a favourite part for her and she found the entire show hilarious. There are thrills, tricks, stunts and a delightful story, all beautifully realised by the 3 talented and charismatic performers on the stage.

Another treat was the performers returning to the stage after the show to interact with the audience- they were happy to shake hands, answer questions from eager young fans and thank the audience for coming along and enjoying the show.

This is a wonderful school holiday offering from Circa, and the convenient QPAC location makes it an excellent option to work into a day out at Southbank – visit the museum, GOMA or QAG for more air-conditioned fun with your Brisbane Kids, or head on over to Streets Beach for an ice cream and a dip.

Wolfgangs Magical Circus

Wolfgang’s Magical Music Circus follows Wolfgang, a dart-playing ratbag to all those who know him, however, to those who are watching and listening, he is the wigged genius Mozart. Throughout the show, the audience is invited along to discover Mozart’s irrepressible spirit and vibrant compositions through physical comedy and mischievous antics.

Be amazed as Circa takes to the stage in a physical theatre spectacular full of energy, tumbles, twirls, leaps, and spins. Famous for their amazing animal-free circus performances, Circa are known for taking their audience on a journey and redefining circus performances as we know them. With daredevils artists, magic, and a live accordionist, Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus will exceed all expectations!

Live music adds another dimension to this family show and, as the title suggests, it is the music of Mozart that takes centre stage as performers bring the renowned compositions to life amidst a storm of powder, tumbles, and crashes, all under the eccentric swirl of the conductor’s baton.

This thrilling circus escapade combines creativity, acrobatics, magic, and laughs with an awesome live music soundtrack that will impress circus, music, and theatre lovers of all ages.
