Tangalooma EcoMarines Early Childhood Program
Just 14 kilometres from central Brisbane, our waterways open out into Moreton Bay, a spectacular marine park that is home to around 600 dolphins, 800 dugongs, 1,000 fish species, 2,000 loggerhead turtles, 10,000 green sea turtles, and migratory populations of up to 17,000 humpback whales and over 40,000 shore birds! With all this amazing wildlife and marine life on our doorstep, it is vital that we take action to protect this unique habitat.
That’s exactly what Tangalooma EcoMarines is doing. Tangalooma EcoMarines (TEM) is a Brisbane-based not-for-profit organisation that takes local action to clean up the waterways of Brisbane and to protect and preserve marine life and wildlife through a wide range of activities and initiatives. One of those initiatives even starts with pre-schoolers! Our kindie kids are natural animal lovers and pint-sized superheroes, and giving them a chance to make a difference in local conservation will empower a generation to make real change for future.
Tangalooma EcoMarines explained
Tangalooma EcoMarines (in partnership with Tangalooma Island Resort, Queensland Urban Utilities, EDSCO and Healthy Waterways) is Brisbane’s most innovative and effective education and conservation movement to save the marine life of Moreton Bay. It aims to educated people on local environmental issues that affect our waterways and the marine habitats and wildlife of Moreton Bay. It aims to help local and their communities to fight pollution in their local area and learn about changes they can make in their everyday lives to save local waterways and protect our precious wildlife.
