Over 3 chilly days from the 5 – 7 July 2019, Stanthorpe will be the place to be as the Granite Belt region’s premier winter celebration , Snowflakes in Stanthorpe, presents a magical program of awesome family friendly entertainment. The winter festival has everything from amazing fireworks displays to bonfires, ice skating, snowman building competitions, an industrial snow machine, human snowglobe, pantomimes, live entertainment, kids activities and snowmen held in multiple sites across the town know best for being the coldest place in Queensland. Just remember to wear your warm clothes while attending the event, as you never know if snowflakes will fall the day you are attending.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe is held in 2 different locations throughout the town on 3 different days. The 2019 Snowflakes in Stanthorpe Festival program is snow much fun and  is as follows:

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe: Day One

Date: Friday 5 July 2019

Location: Stanthorpe Main Street, Maryland Street, Stanthorpe.

Cost: FREE

Back again for another year, Snowflakes in Stanthorpe will open in style with a day full of family friendly entertainment the whole family can enjoy as the main street becomes a winter wonderland. Throughout the day, the street will come to life with markets, amazing food, fashion parades, live music, whip cracking,  ice sculpting competitions, snowman toss and kids activities. The day will end with a must see lantern parade past the Big Thermometer and a fireworks display.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe: Day Two

Date: Saturday 6 July 2019

Location: The Snowgrounds: Stanthorpe Showgrounds, 8 High Street, Stanthorpe.

Cost:  Entry is $15 per adult, $7.50 per child (5-15 years) and $45 per family pass (2 adults and 2 kids) for the early bird tickets – available until 31 May. At the Gate prices are $20 per adult, $10 per child (5-15 years) and $60 per family pass (2 adults and 2 kids). Kids under 5 years are FREE.

Without a doubt, the highlight of Snowflakes in Stanthorpe is Day Two as the Stanthorpe Showgrounds are transformed into a winter utopia full of wonderful winter magical fun. This is the venue where kids and adults alike can play until their hearts are content with guaranteed snow in the coolest town in Queensland. This amazing snow filled haven will entertain the whole family with sled dog racing, fashion parades, whip cracking workshops, face painting, jumping castles, over 100 market stalls, amazing winter warming food, ice skating a rock climbing wall and more. When the family feels the need to chill out, they can head to the Tea Pavilion where winter inspired movies will play throughout the day.

The winter magic really comes into its own on Saturday with an enchanted forest, human sized snow globes, a snow play area, snowman making and for mum and dad, Frosty’s Bar. At 7pm, the night draws to a close with a bonfire and the biggest fireworks display Stanthorpe has ever seen with hundreds of fireworks that will explode and light up the winter sky  to end this not to be missed event day.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe: Day Three

Date:Sunday 7 July 2019, 9am – 2pm

Location: The Snowgrounds: Stanthorpe Showgrounds, 8 High Street, Stanthorpe.

Cost: Entry is $10 per adult, $5 per child (5-15 years) and $30 per family pass (2 adults and 2 kids) for the early bird tickets – available until 31 May. At the Gate prices are $15 per adult, $7 per child (5-15 years) and $45 per family pass (2 adults and 2 kids). Kids under 5 years are FREE.

As the festival winds down, there will be fewer activities available on the Sunday as the celebrations end at 2pm. The Snowfields, Classic Cars, Movies, Ice Skating, Iceman challenge, snowglobes  and Frosty Fun Run will all be available families to enjoy. The enchanted forest, petting zoo, face painting and jumping castle will also provide extra entertainment for the kids.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe: Ice Skating

Date: 5 – 7 July 2019

Cost: $20 for 30 minutes including skate hire. Penguins no extra charge.

No winter festival is complete without ice skating and so throughout the whole 3 days of  the Snowflakes in Stanthorpe celebrations, the whole family can go ice skating together at Stanthorpe’s first ice skating rink. As an extra this year there will be an additional skate rink where learners and littlies can safely learn to skate. This is the only activity during the 3 day celebration that is an additional cost to families. All other activities across the weekend are free or included in the entry cost.
