Brisbane Kids, grab your bikes, goggles and running shoes as the 20th Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlon makes its way to Brisbane on 20th May 2018.

Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlon 2018

Pine Rivers Showground and Lawnton Aquatic Centre will come alive with excitement as an expected 1,800 TRYathletes get active cycling, running, swimming and having fun at the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlon.

The best part about this non-competitive event that every child, regardless of ability, will be cheered on and receive a medallion at the end of the race presented to them by a sporting star! After finishing the race with their friends, every child will feel a sense of pride and accomplishment on completing the race.

The fun doesn’t stop with the finishing of the race either! For those who still have enough energy after the race, or those Brisbane Kids who have come to cheer on their friends and family, there are lots of fun activities in the TRYathlon Village.  In the TRYathlon Village you will find a free Weet-Bix breakfast plus the Bupa Family Zone where you can make a support board to encourage the TRYathletes along the way, have fun with Weet-Bix soccer skills, see if you can hit a 6 with Weet-Bix Hit-A-6 cricket or test your nerves at the Up& Go plunge.

What to expect at the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlon 2018

The Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlon race is specifically for Brisbane Kids aged 7 – 15 years and so they have created a race that all kids can compete in, have fun and success when crossing the finish line.

Those in the 7 – 10 year old category will swim 75m, cycle 3kms and run for 500m. While the TRYathletes in the 11- 15 year age group will have a little bit more of a challenge having to swim 150m, cycle 6kms and run for 1km.

Acknowledging that every child doesn’t feel confident on a bike, or even for those who are looking to compete but think that all 3 legs of the race will be too much, this year for the first time Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlon have introduced the Aquathon option which means that kids will only participate in the swim and run. Perfect for those entering for the first time this year!
