Safe Slime Recipe
It’s true. You can get Alien snot on Earth, well that’s according to the awesome childcare centre at Albany Creek, Chatterbox Childcare who sent us in this slime recipe.
The best thing about this mix is that it is made from ingredients that won’t hurt babies, no borax, no nasties.
Safe slime recipe
Dissolve 1 cup of Lux flakes in 2 litres of warm water. Add desired food colouring. Allow the mixture to stand until it becomes thick and slimy (this can be overnight depending on the humidity)
Put slime in a wide, open container or trough.
You can also provide eggbeaters, spoons, funnels, cups, sponges, sieves, whisks, etc. for children to experiment with.
Let your imaginations run wild.
This is a wonderful sensory activity. Some children will begin by only putting one finger in the mix and manipulating it between their fingers and hands. This is about learning from experience, not just lecture. A wonderful exciting play event where you can talk about observations and feelings and provide them with new words to express these observations.
