The colour, fun and excitement of KiteFest is returning again this year with more entertainment and kites of all shapes and sizes to fill the sky on the weekend of 15 & 16 June 2019.

The Redcliffe KiteFest features a program bursting with fun activities, roving performers, water shows and live entertainment for both young and old making it the perfect day out for any family. Below are the highlights from the 2019 Redcliffe KiteFest program:
Kite Flying at KiteFest
The main attraction at the Redcliffe KiteFest has to be the beautiful kites that fill the sky. This year the world’s best kite flyers will be flying their creations over Redcliffe . Kites flyers from Malaysia, China, New Zealand and Australia will amaze the crowds with their stunts and majestic kites, which will include some of the world’s biggest kites. In addition to the kites, the sky will also play host to an aerobatic display daily.
This year you will also be able to make your own kite to fly in the sky . The kite making workshops will operate daily and there will be experts on hand to show you the tricks of the trade as you fly your kite in the public kite flying zone. Kites will be flying each day from 9am – 4pm.
Sesame Lane Kidz Zone
The Sesame Lane Kidz Zone is an area just for Brisbane Kids featuring free and low cost activities for kids under 10 years.
In 2019, there will be fun with Joyology Joy Arts which is a free activity featuring singing, dancing, a rainbow parachute, body painting. Flutter the Fairy will be joining in the fun plus there will be lots more to keep the kids busy and entertained including pony rides, an animal farm, cube art and puppet shows.
Kindred Main Stage
The Kindred Main stage brings together a showcase of the best artists from around South East Queensland. This year the main stage will feature a range of local artists who will have everyone up and dancing. A highlight for all Brisbane Kids will be the Baby Shark Show. Kitefest will be one of the very first places in Australia you can see this show! It will be on daily at 11.30am and 2pm. Joining Baby Shark in the line up will be Humphrey B Bear, Rapunzel and the Mary Poppins Mini Musical along with the musical talents of Peppermint Ollie, Leo Altarelli, Hope D and more! After the success of all the fun on the water last year, once again this year KiteFest will include the action packed Ocean Zone. The Ocean Zone promises to entertain and amaze the whole family with a range of mind blowing activities taking place on and above the water. A jet ski show daily at 10.30am and an Aerobatic Display at 12.10pm are highlights on the 2019 program.
Welcome to the Whales
A new addition to Redcliffe KiteFest, Welcome to the Whales will be part of the 2019 Redcliffe KiteFest program. Held on both Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 4pm, Welcome to the Whales encourages Brisbane families to place a candle on the gorgeous sand sculpture to wish safe passage to all whales entering Moreton Bay waters as part of a Whale Wishes ceremony. Everyone will also be able to participate in education and environmental activities, sand sculptures,
KiteFest Amusement Rides
KiteFest rides are always a highlight at KiteFest and this zone features rides for young and old. This year there will be more rides than ever before with something suitable for everyone from the littlies to the the ultimate thrill seeker. Tickets must be purchased for the rides.
This is the area that active Brisbane Kids will love as they can kids can jump, run, play sport, learn circus tricks and more. Highlights include Queensland Cricket, Redcliffe AFL, Healthy and Active Moreton Sprint Timer, Skyfall Silks, Virtual Kite Surfing and Billy’s Buddies.
Flutters Fairy Land
Once again Redcliffe KiteFest are bringing some magic to KiteFest with Flutters Fairy Land. This magical zone will feature a live Flutters Fairy stage show, story time and free face painting.
Redcliffe KiteFest Food, Drinks and Markets
KiteFest boast an amazing food court featuring everything from delicious snacks and coffee to gourmet food stalls. There are also hundreds of market stalls for the whole family to wander through.

The Redcliffe KiteFest is located at Pelican Park on Hornibrook Esplanade in Clontarf.

Ticket Prices for Redcliffe KiteFest
Tickets and ticket prices for Redcliffe KiteFest are as follows:
- Family Pass $26.91 (2 adults and 2 kids OR 1 adult and 3 kids)
- Adults $11.42 (16 years and over)
- Concession $6.25 (valid concession/student card must be present at the gate)
- Child $6.25 (2-15 years)
- Child FREE (under 2 years)
