Café Lagarto in Samford Reviewed
Take a short country drive north-west of Brisbane to Samford, and you’ll discover a vibrant village with inviting parks, cafés, shops and a small museum to keep your Brisbane Kids entertained.
Child-friendly café in Samford
One of Samford’s best kept secrets can be found just outside the village on Mount Glorious Road, in the Samford Lifestyle Centre. The centre boasts a thriving nursery, a beautiful gift shop, a beauty salon, yoga studio and a resident homeopath. It is also the location of Cafe Lagarto, a child friendly café with great food and coffee.
A fenced playground for kids
As you sip your coffee in the lush, garden surrounds, your Brisbane kids can play on the playground, spot the water dragons soaking up the sun, or perhaps join you for a babycino.
The café is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Although they don’t have a kids’ menu, they can modify any of the menu items to suit your kids.
Nursery and gift shop
After a bite to eat, you will want to explore the nursery – the kids will love the quirky garden sculptures, fish ponds and interesting trinkets in the gift shop. Please be mindful of the friendly lizards, who are only too eager to clean up your cake crumbs, but often get underfoot! Possibly the coolest thing about this country café is the horse tea room at the front of the property, near the car park. This is where the locals arrive on horseback for a cup of tea and homemade cake in the outdoor pergola (serviced by café staff), giving their nearby tethered horses a well-earned rest.
