Where to find the best New Year’s Eve events for families in Brisbane this year.

New Year’s Eve in Brisbane doesn’t have to be all about staying up till past midnight. The host of kid friendly New Year’s Eve celebrations on the Brisbane calendar provide a wonderful opportunity to involve your Brisbane Kids in the festivities, with many events starting earlier in the evening to cater for families. We’ve gathered all of the best Brisbane New Year’s Eve events from our calendar here for you to find one that suits your family the best. Bribie Island | Bribie Island New Year’s Eve Market and Fireworks | 12 noon – midnight – The best part about the Bribie Island New Years Event is that it also offers a market atmosphere for families seeking to make a full afternoon and evening out of festivities. Starting at 12pm at Brennan Park- check out the Fireworks at 8.30pm when the markets will end. There will be another display from the Bribie Bridge at midnight.

Chermside | Chermside Westfield New Year’s Eve Celebrations | 7pm – 9-pm – Book a front-row seat at a restaurant in the level 2 dining precinct, and enjoy this free and exciting event on Sunday December 31, with fireworks, bubbles and a balloon drop! The events will take place at 7pm and 9pm, as well as face painting and a balloon artist at the Grill’d entrance.

Ipswich| New Year’s Eve 2017 | 5pm – 9.30pm – This amazing family friendly event boasts  free kids rides, food stalls,  live music, face painting, a Smurfette Show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Live, Larrikin Puppets, Stuntman Jim and a Fireworks Finale Spectacular at 9.30pm.

Manly Harbour Village| New Year’s Eve Fireworks | 9pm and midnight – Manly Harbour Village will host 2 fireworks displays over the beautiful harbour, the biggest display at 9pm to cater for families and another explosion of colour and light to bring in the new year at 12 midnight.

Morayfield | Morayfield New Year’s Eve Celebrations | 4pm – midnight- Bring your Brisbane Kids along to D.J Dickson Park for the Morayfield New Year’s Eve Celebration.  Come along and enjoy a night full of live entertainment, including the PINK tribute show and Australian Idol runner up Luke Dickens PLUS rides, Kids activities, food stalls and of course 2 massive fireworks shows.

Portside | NYE Fireworks | 8.30pm and Midnight – Family Friendly Fireworks at both 8.30pm and midnight.

Redcliffe/Scarborough | Scarborough Foreshore will light up in a family friendly New Years Eve Hawaiian Themed party with entertainment rides and fireworks at 8.30pm

Sandstone Point Hotel | 12 noon – midnight – Celebrate New Years Eve with  food stalls, kids rides, live music, entertainment and more. Of course the highlight will be the 2 fireworks shows-  a family fireworks show at 8:30pm will be synchronised from the Sandstone Point Hotel jetty and the Bongaree jetty plus  the traditional NYE fireworks will go off at midnight from the Sandstone Point Hotel jetty.

South Bank | New Year’s Eve Fireworks @ South Bank | 8:30pm and midnight – Get your spot early for this ever-popular New Year’s Eve event! A great vantage point for the fireworks at 8:30pm and midnight. Each show will last for 10 minutes.

Springfield | NYE Live Louder | 5pm – 9pm – Celebrate New Years Eve with a spectacular fireworks shows and family fun entertainment the whole family can enjoy in the beautiful surrounds of Robelle Domain Parklands.

Victoria Point | Lakeside New Year’s Eve 2017 | 5pm-9.30pm  – Celebrate the start of 2017 with the High Street Markets featuring 60+ Market Stalls with fabulous foods and great shopping, free entertainment and fun for all.  Plus there will be a fantastic free Fireworks show over the lake at the child friendly time of 9pm.

Woodford| Woodfordia Kids Festival | 27 December – 1 January from 8am – 5pm daily (note:  Woodford Folk festival operates beyond these hours)  Spread across eight venues and tucked away just inside the Welcome Gate, the Children’s Festival invites young minds to engage in activities and performances ranging from arts and crafts like origami and making wallets out of recycled materials, circus workshops and belly dancing, to learning about insects, understanding native wildlife, exploring musical techniques, and in a first this year, workshops teaching local Indigenous language.

New Year’s Eve for kids on the Gold Coast 2017-2018

Surfer’s Paradise | New Year’s Eve Carnival | 3pm-Midnight – The carnival’s awe-inspiring fireworks finale on New Year’s Eve is renowned as one of Queensland’s best displays of cutting-edge pyrotechnic magic, with three separate shows igniting the beach and riverside precinct in celebration for both families and late-night revellers to enjoy. Fireworks will be at 8pm. 10pm and midnight.

Events on New Year’s Eve for kids on the Sunshine Coast 2017-2018

Caloundra | New Years Eve Celebrations | From 4pm-9.30pm – Kings Beach will be the place to be for families celebrating New Years Eve this year on the Sunshine Coast as Lions Park and Ampitheatre host  kids rides, yummy food and drink stalls, face painters, children’s entertainment, Despicable Me 3 on the big screen, and some great live entertainment before a fireworks finale at 9.30pm.

Mooloolaba | New Year’s Eve Celebrations | from 4pm – Live music and entertainments, rides, kid’s activities, yummy food and drink. The first spectacular fireworks show will be held at 8:30pm and, for all the party animals, another will be held at midnight.
