Moreton Bay College | Prep to Year 12 Uniting Church School for girls
Moreton Bay College (MBC) is located in Manly West and is a Prep to Year 12 Uniting Church School for girls and one of Brisbane’s top performing schools.
Why choose Moreton Bay College?
With a rich heritage of over 110 years, exceptional teachers, state-of-the-art facilities, an integrated pastoral care program and extensive co-curricular opportunities, Moreton Bay College offers an outstanding student experience.
The College aims to develop knowledgeable, confident, passionate and empathetic students with the skills to chase down their dreams and make a real difference in the world.
Two colleges, one community
Moreton Bay College and brother school Moreton Bay Boys’ College, located a five-minute drive away, operate as two colleges within one community. In this way, they are able to provide a ‘best of both worlds’ solution for parents who can reap all of the benefits of single-sex education while their children still have the opportunity to engage in joint social, cultural and co-curricular activities.
Enrolments are now open for the new Moreton Bay Colleges’ Pre-Prep program commencing January 2019.
This full-time, co-educational, Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program will ignite young learners’ curiosity, offering the magic of early learning through purposeful inquiry, and provide a caring, supportive community for families.
Running from 8.30am to 2.30pm five days a week, students will engage in a rich-inquiry based program focused on essential pre-literacy and pre-numeracy skills. They will enjoy access to specialist teachers for Music, PE, Visual Arts, Library and RE, MBC’s facilities and additional activities such as swimming and dance.
To find out more, please contact the enrolments office on [email protected] or 07 3249 9322.
While knowledge is a key element of successful learning at MBC, the College also places a strong emphasis on teaching students how to learn through the IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme) in the Primary School. Through this inquiry-based program, students are encouraged to engage with the material they’re being taught; to understand how it might apply in real-world situations as well how to collaborate and problem solve.
Learning support, additional offerings for gifted students and progressive online reporting aim to improve student learning depth, facilitate goal setting and enable students to realise their full potential.
