That’s why the Brisbane City Council is encouraging families to kick-start 2017 with Brisbane’s Active & Healthy program, which offers activities for all ages and fitness levels at hundreds of local parks and other venues across Brisbane.

Low cost exercise for Brisbane families

With the New Year in full swing, Brisbane families can begin to make use of Council’s free or low-cost activities to help improve their health, fitness and well-being.

Council’s Active & Healthy Program builds an active and healthy city and proves that leading a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be costly.

Council is dedicated to creating an active, healthy city that delivers a range of programs to help encourage the community to make positive lifestyle choices to improve their personal health and fitness.

Keeping fitness fun and ensuring there is plenty of variety is the key to maintaining your family’s new year resolution. At many of Council’s Active and Healthy programs, you’ll be having so much fun, you won’t even notice the sweat!

Active programs for any age and ability level

Council’s Active & Healthy Program offers a series of group classes suitable for everyone, from beginners to those with higher fitness abilities.

With more than 12,000 free or low-cost activities delivered to more than 100,000 residents, there’s sure to be a class or group to suit your age, interests and ability.

Classes include tai chi, pilates, stand-up paddle boarding, skate skills clinics, indoor rock climbing and abseiling, boxing, and mums and bubs fitness classes.
