Macquarie Way Park – The Fun
Macquarie Way Park is a relatively small park, giving the feel of a well-tended backyard. There is a single modern timber play structure, which features a slide, bridge and climbing activities, and a set of two swings. A large, flat grassed area offers plenty of space to run and is contained by garden beds. Tall and mature eucalypts offer shade to the park in some parts of the day. The natural creek adjacent to the park is a great attraction, with stepping stones great for balance practice. Macquarie Way Park has a picnic shelter with table and an electric barbeque, as well as an unsheltered table.
Macquarie Way Park’s small creek is perfect for fishing adventures and tadpole spying. Brisbane Kids will have a ball exploring the banks of the creek, identifying bugs and other crawly creatures along the way. The open grassy space lets imaginations roam free and is ideal for lying back for a bit of cloud spotting.
No toilets are provided in Macquarie Way Park. The playground is unfenced and uncovered, though reasonably contained within gardens and embankments. You’ll need to keep a close eye on younger Brisbane Kids close to the creek. There is no carpark, but street parking in close proximity.
