Lanham Park in The Grange | The Grange Library Park

After exploring the treasures of The Grange Library, be sure to step outside and check out the colourful playground which offers exciting play opportunities for Brisbane Kids.

Lanham Park – The Fun

This is a lovely park situated behind the Grange library. The partially fenced playground has so many special features: from counting and sign language boards, to weighing scales, to a little shelter that uses light and coloured plastic to create a special experience for a toddler. The Grange Library Park boasts swings and numerous climbing nets, plus a double slippery dip. It also has the benefit of being behind the library, so there are public toilets and a community cafe that is open for business during library opening hours (note that the library is closed on Sundays and Mondays). Across the street is a Lions park and playground, which is suitable for younger children.

Lanham Park – Imagination Factor

Preschoolers and primary school-aged Brisbane Kids will love the rainbow of colours in this playground, viewing the world in technicolour through the plastic windows of the little huts. Little monkeys and acrobats can climb and swing whilst building muscle and gross motor strength. Kids will love spending time racing each other on the double slide. There’s also opportunities for make believe play at the shop front/cafe play area. And if that isn’t enough, there’s another playground across the street in the lions park with different play equipment.

Lanham Park – Special Needs

Accessible toilets are available at the adjacent council library (subject to library opening times). There are flat concrete paths in and around the park for access. Lanham Park does not have barbeques, but across the street there is a Lions park which does have one electric barbeque. However, Lanham Park has several bench seats and grassy open spaces to set up for a picnic. The playground equipment is suited to a variety of ages and abilities. The cafe and library are also wheel chair and pram accessible from the park and off-street car park.

The cafe is open for business, and has been fitted with lovely new table and chairs. They have a smorgasbord of magazines and newspapers while you have your coffee and watch the kids too!
