Galleries in Brisbane for families

The Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), South Bank

Next time you are hunting for a fun way to pass the day with the kids why not introduce them to the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane?  Home to not only some of the best art pieces from modern artists that together you can talk about and question, it also houses the Children’s Art Centre – a place dedicated to encouraging hands-on artistic fun for little ones.  In fact, GOMA and the Queensland Art Gallery (two separate galleries that exist under the one umbrella) have a strong focus on encouraging children’s artistic involvement and frequently have initiatives and commissioned exhibitions created with children in mind. Queensland Art Gallery

The Queensland Art Gallery, South Bank

If you have a love and appreciation for great art and would like to encourage this in your children as well then, believe it or not, the Queensland Art Gallery should be put high on your list of things to do with the kids.  Although walking around the quiet halls with thousands of dollars worth of valuable pieces being within touching distance of little hands may seem more like the idea of a crazy man, the Art Gallery actually caters for the interests of the younger audience too and can be the perfect way to draw them into the creative world around them.
