At the forefront of the new wave of contemporary Australian circus Circa pioneers powerful and moving performances on stage while also sharing their knowledge and skill with the next generation of aspiring acrobats with circus courses and school holiday programs for ages 3 – 15 at their Training Centre located in the Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Arts in the heart of Fortitude Valley.
Circa’s Training Centre is developing a new generation of acrobats – their courses run for 10 weeks with 5-week Tiny Terms available for Tiny Tumblers and use learning frameworks that focus on the individual skills development and progression of each participant. At the Training Centre your young person won’t just learn circus, they will develop, progress, commit and grow under the guidance of Training Centre Director Jamee Campbell, drawing on her extensive experience and training in circus and education.
Why Circus Classes for Kids?
Circa’s Training Centre offers a range of courses for children and young people covering circus basics, ground acrobatics, aerials, creative development, physical fitness as well as opportunities to join Circa’s elite youth ensemble, Circa Zoo.
Through circus’ unique blend of art and sport, young people develop a diverse range of developmental, social and physical benefits. While learning circus young people learn how to navigate and respond intelligently to physical challenges and, by incorporating elements of drama, clowning, improvisation and choreography in our classes, they’re able to grow their imagination, empathy, memory, emotional intelligence and communication skills.
New to the Training Centre? Brisbane Kids readers can receive a 20% off your first course with the promo code BKWELCOME.
