World Space Week at The Planetarium

Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium will be launching two exciting new shows to celebrate the largest event on planet Earth.

Dawn of the Space Age and special themed Astronomy Live shows will run exclusively throughout World Space Week (4-10 October).

Dawn of the Space Age
From the launch of the first artificial satellite Sputnik, to the magnificent lunar landings and privately operated space flights. Be immersed and overwhelmed with this most accurate historic reconstruction of Man’s first steps into space. Who were these Men and Women that took part in these death defying endeavours? Witness their drive, their passion, and their perseverance to explore, in Dawn of the Space Age. Approximately 35 minutes, inclusive of night sky tour.

Astronomy Live
Join us for a mission of discovery as the Planetarium’s astronomers take you on an exciting ‘live’ fulldome spaceflight. Shall we chart a course through the Solar System or venture past the most distant space probes, and out of the Milky Way galaxy? Every show is a new and different adventure!
Approx. 50 minutes, inclusive of night sky tour.

If you’ve ever been intrigued by the worlds beyond our own, then you won’t want to miss World Space Week at the Planetarium.
