Wildlife Week at Indigiscapes

It’s Wildlife Week at Indigiscapes and Geckoes Wildlife will be at IndigiScapes with a range of furry, feathery and scaly creatures on display and informative talks.

Come along to learn more about our iconic koala, flying foxes, reptiles, marine life and beautiful birds, and you may even be lucky enough to get ‘hands on’ with some critters and creatures!

  • Monday 21 September, 10am – 2pm

To kick off Wildlife Week at IndigiScapes, Ocean Life Education will have marine life and artefacts on display. Budding artists will be able to assist marine artist Mo Riggs complete the final ‘deep sea’ banner in the series started during National Science Week. Mo will provide templates for younger children to paint alongside. The library ‘First Five Forever’ Pop up library will be here for storytelling and activities. Away from the ocean, Bat conservation & Rescue Qld, will feature their intriguing flying foxes as a key species combined with a batty craft activity. 

Bookings required only for participation in Mo Riggs ‘Deep Sea’ banner painting at 10.30am or 1pm.

  • Tuesday 22 September, 10am – 2pm

Geckoes Wildlife will be at IndigiScapes on Tuesday with a range of furry, feathery and scaly creatures on display and informative talks at 11am and 1pm.

Representing Birdlife Australia, Dr Robert Clemens will present rolling talks throughout the day about the Powerful Owl Citizen Science Work and recent analysis from the summer bushfires.

  • Wednesday  23 and Thursday 24 September, 10am – 2pm

Local wildlife organisations are visiting IndigiScapes throughout the week to increase awareness about our incredible wildlife and the educational work being done to protect them.

  • Friday 25 September, 10am – 2pm

Geckoes Wildlife will be at IndigiScapes on Friday with a range of furry, feathery and scaly creatures on display and informative talks at 11 am and 1 pm.

IndigiScapes Environmental Partnerships Team will provide information about habitat creation for wildlife and present a ‘hands-on’ demonstration showing how to make a possum drey.

Fee $10.00 for one child & one adult to participate in making a drey. Suitable for school-age plus.

Sessions at 10.30 am and 1 pm.
