My Little Sunshine

My Little Sunshine Interactive Exhibition at Hummingbird House from May 23 -June 11
Navin Samuel Regi, is pleased to present My Little Sunshine, a multi-media documentary and interactive exhibition posed as a thought-provoking exploration of grief as a companion of love. Crafted through narrative audio stories and documentary photography, the exhibition features intimate stories of families and staff connected to Hummingbird House, captured over a four-year period.
The new exhibition is both a poignant tribute to the strength and resilience of families who have experienced the death of a child, and an impassioned call to challenge long held perceptions of grief and bereavement in contemporary, western society.
The exhibition duration will be supported by three unique events, including an exclusive launch, a ‘tending to grief’ panel discussion speaking with those with profound lived experience, and an ‘in conversation’ with the artists.
The exhibition invites voluntary audience participation, prompting attendees to engage with the featured stories and divulge their own experiences and memories of grief, joy, and loss.
My Little Sunshine has teamed up with 2020 Queensland Music Award winning musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist MATT HSU and his Obscure Orchestra, who have developed music for the project and will perform in the exhibition space.
Hummingbird House is Queensland’s only children’s hospice, providing care and support for babies, children and young people with a life-limiting condition and their families.
