Bring your squad and your BYO bags – Lifeline can’t wait to see all of their beloved Bookfestians again
WHAT’S DIFFERENT THIS YEAR?
To keep you safe, Bookfest will be more spread out across three halls (that means no $1 section this year, but STACKS of $2.50 and High-Quality books).
Numbers in the halls will be restricted, but don’t worry, we have 18 months’ worth of books to share and we’ll be restocking daily, so you won’t miss out. Once we reach capacity in the halls, it will be one in, one out.
Check in with the Queensland Government’s Check-in Qld app on arrival. There will be queues, please be patient with us.
Sales will be card-only (no cash).
Consider bringing & wearing a mask, for when you can’t socially distance
Stay home if unwell and
clean your hands often with soap and water or sanitiser.
The wellbeing and safety of the community, our volunteers and our staff is of utmost priority, if there is a COVID outbreak, we will follow health advice and let you know of any cancellations or postponements as soon as possible.
At Bookfest you’ll find a $2.50 section and a High-Quality section. Books in the High-Quality section range from $4 to $25, and our Rare and Collectible books are individually priced.
The books are divided into categories for ease of browsing:
Children’s; Australiana; History; Reference; Humour and Oddities; Biography; Literature and Classics; Textbooks; Travel; Health; Science Fiction; Hardback Fiction; Art and Music; Paperback Fiction; Cooking; Computers; Religion; Foreign Language; Vehicles and War Craft; Hobbies; Sport; Gardening; Animals; Penguins and Pelicans; Economics; Sociology; Philosophy; and Science.
Plus MAGAZINES, GAMES & PUZZLES, DVDs, VINYL and CDs.
To be released closer to the date! The event will be held at Halls 3 & 4.
Bring your own bags, trolleys or carts – you will be surprised by how many books you will end up taking home.
You can hire a trolley at the event to do your shopping – $2 trolley hire.
Come early – it’s always good to come early for an event like the Bookfest. The first to enter gets the chance to pick the best from millions of books. Remember, there will be queues.
You can donate new, used or unwanted books in our Lifeline shops or Lifeline donation bins. Crates will be available at the event (next to the entrance) for book donations.
