Kids Collective’s Holiday Program Roma Street Parkland

An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, repeating until October 2, 2020

Kids Collective’s holiday program is returning to Roma Street Parkland for children aged 5- 12 years from 21 September to 2 October, Monday to Friday. The free outdoor series is set to entertain children with a range of educational and interactive activities, stimulating parts of the brain that assist in creative thinking, problem solving as well as fine and gross motor skills. 

From mini worm farm creations, butterfly watercolour paintings, nature play and bee themed craft, there is something to kindle every kids fancy.

Workshops will be split into 30-45 minute sessions, taking place at 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am and 12:00pm. 

Activities 

Monday 21 September – ID Sports – Rugby Play

Tire little tackers out with interactive games as they learn the fundamental skills associated with successfully catching, passing and kicking a rugby ball. To attend a session please register here

Tuesday 22 September – Bristyle Events – Nature Play

Littlies will learn how to upcycle regular disposable coffee cups along with some basic supplies to make a fun and quirky grass-head. Kids can take their creations home and watch them grow! To attend a session please register here

Wednesday 23 September – Bazil Grumble – Busy Bee Kites 

Kids will be humming with happiness as they make Busy Bee Kites. This creative and hands- on craft activity is guaranteed to give littlies a buzz! To attend a session please register here.

Thursday 24 September – Lemonade Kids – Standing Strong Wellness

Standing Strong is a holistic well-being program designed to help educate, motivate and inspire kids to live to their true potential! This workshop is based around three core components, including movement, mindset and mindfulness. To attend a session please register here.

Friday 25 September – Brian the Worm Man – Mini Worm Farm Making

Littlies will have the opportunity to create and take home their very own mini worm farm, made from active worm farm materials. Children will become educated on the sustainability benefits of a worm farm, while getting up close and personal with some slippery, slimy worms! To attend a session please register here.

Monday 28 September – Ginger Sport – Fun Soccer

Ginger Sports brings exciting and fun soccer activities with enthusiastic and energetic coaches to Roma Street Parkland in a safe and relaxed environment. Sporting activities are beneficial to children’s gross motor skills as well as coordination. To attend a session please register here.

Tuesday 29 September – Communify – Spring Butterfly Workshop

Communify will guide children in constructing wearable headbands featuring butterflies and flowers, as well as take-home clay sculptures. Littlies can take home their creations in a compostable brown paper bag. To attend a session please register here.

Wednesday 30 September – Street Science – Alignate Worms Workshop

This workshop will see children complete a guided hands-on investigation, expanding their knowledge of processed materials. Littlies will mix various chemicals to produce a number of amazing polymer worms! To attend a session please register here.

Thursday 1 October – Chris Collin (Funkybooks) – Creative Fun with Funky Chicken!

Funky Books will entertain littlies with a selection of book narration, puppet entertainment and musical compositions! To attend a session please register here.

Friday 2 October – Flying Fox Studios – Coloured Art for Spring

In this mini-workshop the Flying Fox Studios team will instruct and guide children to make their own rainbow lorikeet artwork and spring flower. Littlies will engage in craft skills that involve colour mixing, application using brushes and droppers, colouring and drawing. To attend a session please register here.
