Indigenous Art Program Outdoor Gallery
The Indigenous Art Program transforms Brisbane’s streets into an exhibition of Aboriginal artworks in various places and spaces, including large-scale banners, light boxes, vitrines, and projections, in Brisbane’s laneways.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artworks are taking over our city streets and laneway spaces until 31 July. Explore the Indigenous Art Program: Hyperlocal and immerse yourself in these spectacular artworks.
From 1 May to 31 July 2021, explore the Hyperlocal exhibition throughout the Outdoor Gallery, featuring new and existing artworks from Australia’s leading Aboriginal artists.
The exhibition will be complemented by an exciting program of tours, talks and workshops for children and adults.
Recent events have changed our ability to travel and during 2020 there was a recognisable shift in our appreciation for community resources, homegrown produce, and locally sourced skills and services. This program profiles Aboriginal artists that remained in Brisbane during 2020 and the global success produced in our own backyard.
We make every effort to ensure all this information is up to date but should be used as a guide only. Events do get cancelled or changed due to wet weather and other events. If you know of a change or cancellation then please do let us know at [email protected].
