Christmas Loveheart Paper Chain | Festive Fun
How to make your own Christmas decorations
This is a Christmas version of a simple and cute decoration that Brisbane Kids will love to help make. You can make the chains as long or as short as you desire, depending on where you wish to hang them (on your front door, around the Christmas tree, anywhere really!). These decorations would also be effective using pink/red card for Valentine’s Day.
Step 1.
Organise all of your materials.
What you will need:
- Paper or Lightweight Cardstock (double-sided scrapbooking paper works well)
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Stapler
Step 2.
Cut paper into strips of approximately 12 cm long and 2.5cm wide.
Step 3.
Take two strips of paper , staple them together at one end to form a V shape. This ‘ V’ will become the bottom of your first heart.
Step 4.
Take two more strips of paper. Staple one on each side of the V and bring the edges together and pinch together to form a heart shape.
Step 5.
Staple all 4 pieces of paper together… one heart is complete and the bottom of the next one is ready to go!
Step 6.
Repeat process until you have your desired length of paper chain.
Step 7.
Tie a ribbon around the end of your Paper Chain and hang it up.
HINT: About 6 hearts work well, otherwise the weight of the paper stretches the hearts out of shape.
