Christmas Fun at Home
The lead up to Christmas can be a jumble of emotions for children and adults – excitement, anxiety, boredom and anticipation. A super fun and creative way to fill the time between the school year ending and Christmas Day is to get hands-on with some of these festive art and craft activities. Not only will these activities occupy the children, you will end up with lots of unique decorations to brighten up your home over the festive period.
Christmas Fun at Home
Preparation
We have tried to find activities which make use of everyday items you may have lying around the house, to limit the cost of buying specific art and craft items. If you don’t have what is required, perhaps you can improvise.
Before starting art and craft with your children, make sure you have gathered the necessary supplies, cleared out a suitable area for working in, have plenty of time and lastly, take a deep breath and enjoy the creative process.
Whilst we have provided instructions for each activity, feel free to use these as a guide and allow your child to interpret, modify and extend the activity as they wish – who knows what masterpiece you will end up with!
Christmas Snow Globe
You need not miss out on the fun of snow this year when creating your very own glitter snow globe.
Reindeer Lollypops
Jazz up your standard lollypop by transforming them into reindeers, making them the perfect gift for classmates and friends.
Star Decoration
Create simple, but colourful star decorations, with minimal supplies needed.
Hand-print Christmas Tree
Create a cute Christmas Tree from your child’s very own hand-prints.
Cupcake Casing Angels
These simple, but pretty angels will look adorable hanging from your Christmas Tree, especially if they are customised by each child.
