Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the musical is finally soaring into the Lyric Theatre, QPAC later this year!
For over four years, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has enthralled audiences in the UK, holding the Guinness World record for the most expensive stage prop in British theatre history. With the original story being written by Ian Fleming (author of James Bond), this incredible stage show promises the amazing special effects and fabulous sets that you would expect from such a bestselling author.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang arrived on our shores in 2012 and has been captivating audiences Australia-wide ever since. Finally, in November 2013, Brisbane will have its chance to fall in love with this childhood classic all over again, with the show also capturing the hearts of a whole new generation of musical lovers.
Many will remember the original 1968 movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang starring Dick Van Dyke and Sally Ann Howes. The stage show embraces the magic of the original story of the amazing flying car, with all of the musical pieces of the movie, plus a few new songs that are sure to get everyone singing along. Children and adults alike will be mesmerised by outstanding performances by David Hobson as Caractacus Potts and Rachael Beck as the gorgeous Truly Scrumptious. Also featuring the talents of Alan Brough, Jennifer Vuletic, George Kapiniaris and Peter Carroll, producer Tim Lawson will be casting 27 brilliant local child performers for the Brisbane show, as well as 8 dogs.
