Central Park, Narangba | New Mega Park in Brisbane
A brand new mega adventure park in Narangba, 40 minutes north of Brisbane’s CBD, offers something for Brisbane Kids of all ages.
Central Park, Narangba — The Fun
There is a lot of building activity in the suburb of Narangba, in the Moreton Bay Regional Council area, especially in the Stone Ridge Residential Community. The developer, Stockland, has just unveiled a beautiful new park and playground — Central Park — which is definitely worth a visit by all local families.
There is lots for Brisbane Kids, big and small, to do at Central Park. Children of all ages will love the playground with seesaw, spinner, climbing frame, swings and slide. Preschoolers and primary-school-aged children will enjoy the designated bike/scooter riding area, and older kids will love the double flying fox. Follow the path up the hill and you will come out at an open ‘kick-around area’ and basketball half-court — a perfect space for teens to hang out. There is even a dog off-leash area so you can bring your furry kids too!
There is a BBQ area here too, as well as grassy spaces for picnics. So bring the bikes or scooters (and helmets!), hats and sunscreen, and a picnic or BBQ provisions to get the most out of your time at this lovely park.
Kids will love the realistic road signs and markings in the designated bike/scooter riding area, which are certain to inspire imaginative play. Along the track is a toddler-sized fort, which makes a great pit stop! And the double flying fox is sure to be popular — races are a must!
Parents can sit in the nature-inspired sitting area (where boulders are used for seats and a gum tree grows through the middle of the timber shelter) and overlook the playground.
There are no toilets or specific facilities for those with special needs at Central Park. However, there are paved walkways from the road to all the playground facilities, ensuring access for those in wheelchairs or prams.
