When it comes to markets, Brisbane has you covered with amazing Brisbane Night Markets all throughout the year.  Whether it is flowers, fresh produce, homemade products or a classic vintage treasure you seek, there is bound to be one that meets your needs just a stone’s throw away from your front door.

Like their day-lit cousins, Night Markets are especially popular in our city.  Containing all the usual finds but with a glittering of fairy lights and festive sounds, there is something just a little bit magical about the many night markets that sprinkle our gorgeous city.  If you are looking to head out after hours and immerse yourself beneath the twinkling of lights and within the rows of stalls they blanket, then check out list below of Brisbane night markets to visit.

Note: At Christmas approaches, you will notice an increase in night markets and Christmas markets all across the city, it really is the most wonderful time of the year 

Brisbane Night Market

Aptly named, the Brisbane Night Market is one of the biggest and brightest after-hours markets hosted in Brisbane.

When: 4pm – 10pm every Friday

Where:  385 Sherwood Road, Rocklea

Entry Fee: $2.50 per person (children 15 years and under are FREE).

What will you find:  Over 40 stalls offering street food, drinks, gourmet goodies, artisanal crafts, lifestyle products and more.

Other: Live entertainment and dedicated kids entertainment section.

The Collective Markets

A firm favourite right in the heart of Southbank, The Collective Markets have been described as a vibrant cultural melting pot set in the artisan’s heart of Brisbane.

When: 5pm – 9pm every Friday

Where:  Stanley Street Plaza, South Bank

Entry Fee: FREE

What will you find:  Food stalls as well as an eclectic mix of original art, photography, unique gifts, trending fashion and vintage clothing. 

Other: Live music and the South Bank kids’ playground is all lit up for a nighttime play.

Markets, South Bank

Mt Gravatt Marketta

A suburban version of the bigger city night food markets, The Mt Gravatt Marketta offers a smorgasbord from over 60 different food vans and vendors to its visitors.  Don’t be fooled by its suburban address though, this market pumps with an amazing atmosphere and crowd.

When: 4pm – 9pm every Saturday

Where:  Mt Gravatt Showground, Logan Road, Mt Gravatt

Entry Fee: $2.00 for adults, under 16 years are FREE

What will you find:  Everything you can think of… Italian, Asian, BBQ, seafood, paella, crepes, ice-creams, donuts and so much more!

Other: Live music and a shipping container bar.

Boundary Street Markets

Promoting itself as a trip around the globe, the Boundary Street Markets at West End offers an array of international food and drink stalls.

When: 4pm – 10pm every Friday and Saturday, 12pm – 8pm on Sunday

Where:  Boundary Street, West End

Entry Fee: FREE

What will you find:  A huge range of sweet and savoury delights representing all countries and cultures around the globe.

Other: Live music.

Twilight Vegan Markets 

A Vegan’s delight, on the fourth Sunday of every month Boundary Street plays host to a vegan-only market. 

When: 12pm – 8pm fourth Sunday of every month.

Where:  Boundary Street, West End

Entry Fee: FREE

What will you find:  A full range of vegan food and drinks.

Other: Live music.

Eat Street Northshore

The original late night container-filled wonderland of food, drink, markets and entertainment all with city and river views, the Eat Street Markets at Northshore is one not to miss!

When: 4pm – 10pm every Friday and Saturday, 12pm – 8pm on Sunday

Where:  221D Macarthur Avenue, Hamilton

Entry Fee: $3.00 per person (12 years and under are FREE).

What will you find:  Shipping containers bursting with wondrous food and drink options, market stalls, bars, live entertainment and kids play spaces all beneath a blanket of fairy lights and stars.

Other: A main stage featuring top local & touring bands, solo artists, laneway jazz bands and big-screen entertainment.

Pet’s at the Gabba

Yes, that’s right.  A market dedicated to our four-legged (and other) friends, Pet’s at the Gabba is Brisbane’s first ever market for people and their pets!

When: 3pm – 8pm every Saturday

Where:  73 Ipswich Road, Woolloongabba

Entry Fee: FREE

What will you find: Plenty of food and drink as well as a great mix of stalls offering all things canine, feline, avian and things for their human best friend.  The main attraction here is definitely all of the pets.  Bring your own or be surrounded by a bevy of furry friends and the people who adore them too.

Other: Live entertainment, jumping castle for kids, raffles and more.

The Sunset Social

Pet-friendly and fully licenced, the Sunset Social at Davies Park is where you will find some great local delicacies as well as a range of fabulous food and drink options.

When: 5pm – 9:30pm on the second and fourth Friday of each month.

Where:  Davies Park, West End

Entry Fee: FREE

What will you find:  Artisan markets as well as food and drink vans

Other: Family friendly activities and entertainment.

BrisStyle Indie Twilight Market

The only marketplace in Brisbane that offers 100% locally handmade products, BrisStyle Twilight Markets promises no imported, offshore, on-sold or mass-produced items will be sold here.

When: 4pm – 9pm once a month, on a Friday.

Where:  King George Square, Brisbane

Entry Fee: FREE

What will you find:  A variety of handmade market stalls as well as local food vendors.

Other: Live music and a free Craft Workshop.

You don’t need to wake up with the sun to make the most of the Brisbane market scene.  If a nighttime stroll and shop is more to your fancy then mark the ones above in your calendar and head on out this weekend!
