Brisbane Christian College Review
Brisbane Christian College is a Kindy to Year 12 Coeducational College on Brisbane’s south-side. Their aim is to know every student by name, paying attention to their individual needs and talents so that they can achieve their desired goals in life.
About Brisbane Christian College
Brisbane Christian College provides quality, holistic education that is both Christ-centred and innovative; encouraging confident, creative, life-long learners. Their community equips its members to become resourceful servant leaders who live with dignity and care for others to the glory of God.
Brisbane Christian College Kindergarten (Pre-Prep) is a Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten (child care Brisbane). The purpose-built Pre-Prep Centre in Coopers Plains is part of the Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program and offers an educational play-based program for children three years to school age with engaging high-tech facilities and a spacious, exciting outdoor play area.
Primary school (prep – year 5)
The Brisbane Christian College Primary School recognises every student as being a valued individual who is to be given every opportunity to grow to become all that God wants him/her to be. Their classrooms reflect the Christian culture of their College and students are rewarded for positive behaviour and discouraged from anything that would prevent any student from succeeding. The college’s weekly Primary School Chapel time, Christian songs, Bible lessons and prayer contribute to building the thinking and behaviour in their students that the College recognises as important.
Primary children at Brisbane Christian College enjoy Chinese language lessons and Gymnastics as a part of their curriculum. Children also have the opportunity to have music and instrument tuition, participate in regular musicals (for all ages), have fun doing art and drama and explore the wild in outdoor education classes.
Middle school (year 6 – 8)
Middle School at Brisbane Christian College is a time of discovery and making choices in a supportive and challenging environment. Students are supported through the College House system; allowing them to journey alongside their peers and also be individually nurtured.
The dynamic Middle School curriculum challenges students to achieve their best through the application of their God-given talents. Students are given the opportunity to explore a range of elective subjects as they move confidently from a single teacher and classroom to many in preparation for the Secondary School learning environment.
Many co-curricular opportunities are available for participation and of particular note is the Outdoor Education program. Students can apply their class knowledge and understanding to hands-on experiences in our National Capital, Canberra, and participate in Outback Queensland life at Longreach.
Secondary school (years 9 – 12)
Secondary School is about confirming career choices and developing skills in your chosen field. Students will make many personal choices as they commit to graduating strong.
Years 11 and 12 students achieve their academic or vocational goals through the Pathway of Excellence program that is tailored to the individual student with university or apprenticeship opportunities, relevant subjects, co-curricular and outdoor learning opportunities and extension classes.
Brisbane Christian College offers school-based University and Apprenticeship programs, as well as Aviation Academy for Senior students.
