QPAC Presents the Out of the Box festival for children eight years and under.
The program for the 2016 Out of the Box festival has now been made public and it’s chock-full of exciting and engaging events and activities for kids! This year featuring over 40 new events including workshops, performances, films, exhibitions and activities, the biennial Festival has been providing a dose of culture to the young children of Brisbane for over 20 years.
With a focus on arts-based learning and the goal to create lifelong memories for participants, this year’s line up is extra special. Amazing theatre performances by The Queensland Ballet, Stalker Theatre and all the way from Broadway, The Gazillion Bubble Show, promise to bring a smile to the faces of kids, mums and dads alike throughout this eight day festival. There will also be a good dose of Asian culture, with outdoor activities including Bollywood Dance, Gong Garden and a Holi Throw. Plus there is a great mix of free and ticketed events including a lantern festival, kids drive in movie, snow and more that round out this awesome festival program that some are saying is the best to date.
The Out of the Box Festival 2016 starts just before the beginning of the June/July school holidays in Queensland, spanning eight whole days and giving children in junior primary schools the opportunity to participate. Planning your attendance in advance is highly recommended, as spaces do fill up fast. Please note that performances, workshops and outdoor activities at the Out of the Box festival do require bookings. Spaces are limited at free workshops and some of these do need to be booked also. In peak periods, some of the free activities may become very busy.
