Big 4 North Star Holiday Resort and Caravan Park | The Review
Recently, Brisbane Kids was invited to spend a weekend at the Big 4 North Star Holiday Resort and Caravan Park. Our family of five hit the road one Friday afternoon; full of excitement and all packed for a weekend by the sea.
When we arrived at the resort, in the sleepy beach town of Hastings Point in Northern New South Wales, we checked in and were immediately impressed with the friendly staff and the ease of the check in process.
We were directed to one of the Tuscany Villas, our home for the next two nights. In addition to villa accommodation, Big 4 North Star also has sites and facilities for caravans and campers.
Review of Tuscany Villas, Big 4 North Star Holiday Resort
These villas really are a home away from home, with everything that you could possibly need supplied. Downstairs is a main bedroom with ensuite (including spa bath) and another ensuited bedroom with a double bed and single bunk beds. There is also a small living area with television, kitchenette, laundry and front patio on this level.
Upstairs we found another bedroom with two sets of single bunk beds, a second bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen, dining and living area with television, and a deck with a BBQ. What really struck us was how well maintained and spotlessly clean the villa was. In fact, the whole resort is very clean, tidy and in good repair.
Review of activities at Big 4 North Star Holiday Resort
With beautiful weather, we didn’t spend long in our rooms, but instead set out to discover all that the resort has to offer. Over the next two days, we swam and slid our way around Sammy’s Lagoon, visited Neptune’s Castle kids’ club, played on the outdoor playground and in the indoor games room, feasted at the outdoor BBQ and family movie night, and enjoyed the buffet breakfast at Ripples Licensed Cafe. In fact, we only left the resort once, for a leisurely stroll to the beach across the road. This resort allows kids to use scooters and bikes on the internal road, making it easy to get around to all the attractions. There is also the Seascape Leisure and Wellness Centre (including lap pool, gym, hairdresser and day spa), tennis courts, and a Marine Environment Centre to check out, so your family will never be bored! My children voted Sammy’s lagoon – which comprises a pool, spa, water slides, tipping buckets and fountains – as their favourite activity of the weekend. Neptune’s Castle kids club, with its large indoor play area, ball pits, and craft activities, was a close second!
It was three reluctant children that we packed up to head home after a relaxing and fun weekend away. We will undoubtedly be back!
