A Family Friendly Winery in Brisbane | Sirromet Winery
Whether you’ve lived in Brisbane all your life, you’re just visiting or you’re playing tour guide to guests, a visit to Sirromet Winery at Mount Cotton should be on your list of things to do.
It’s a fantastic local experience and is surprisingly a family friendly winery – there’s plenty to entertain the kids while you sample fine foods and wines produced from grapes grown right here in Queensland.
Wine Tasting at Sirromet – Cellar Door
Open seven days from 9am until 4:30pm, this is a lovely spot to sit and sample Sirromet’s award-winning wines. Wine tasting sessions cost $5 per person or $30 for premium tastings, and winery tours are also available for $20. The Cellar Door Café is open Wednesday – Sunday, 11am – 3pm and sells Devonshire teas, coffee, cakes, vineyard platters and light lunches. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, live music adds to the laidback atmosphere. Kids are not forgotten – there’s a children’s menu at the Cellar Door Café and a large playground nearby (supervision required).
Fine Dining at Restaurant Lurleen’s
Children are catered for at this award-winning restaurant, headed up by Executive Chef Andrew Mirosch. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant affords stunning views over Moreton Bay and is the perfect spot for celebrating a special birthday, anniversary or other special event with friends and family. Delicious, organic, locally sourced foods matched with Sirromet’s wines makes for a memorable day or night out.
Breakfast: Saturday and Sunday, 8am-10am Lunch: Wednesday – Sunday, from 11:30am Dinner: Thursday – Saturday, from 6pm
Relaxed dining at the Tuscan Terrace
If you are wanting a more casual dining experience, particularly if your children are younger and still learning table manners, the Tuscan Terrace is ideal. Brisbane’s perennially warm and sunny climate means you can enjoy outdoor dining under the trees on the Tuscan Terrace’s deck and courtyard all year round.
The Tuscan Kitchen serves up delicious Italian lunches – homemade pasta, wood fired pizzas and children’s meals between 11am – 3pm, Wednesday – Sunday. It also overlooks the expansive green, where kids can kick around a ball, spot wallabies hiding in the bushes and you can spread out the picnic rug and laze the day away.
Family friendly winery events at Sirromet
Throughout the year the winery hosts concerts and performances by well-known artists such as Mariah Carey and Jimmy Barnes. Each year there are celebrations for mother’s day and father’s day including entertainment and attractions such as jumping castles and rides. Just remember though that Sirromet Winery has a policy of no BYO food or drink to be consumed on the premises.
Sirromet Winery is located at 850 Mount Cotton Road in Mount Cotton.
