Then this is your chance to experience the thrill of witnessing the best swimmers in the country as they compete against each other in the 2017 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships, being held in Brisbane this April!
About the 2017 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships
The Australian Swimming Championships are a huge highlight of the swimming calendar as Australia’s best swimmers come together to battle for first place and their spot in the World Championship teams. This year, the Championships come to Brisbane, and we get the chance to see our Rio Olympic and Paralympic heroes along with many new rising stars, racing in front of a home crowd.
Over the course of 5 days, your favourite swimmers will compete against each other in exciting heats and finals, with the winners making it to the World Championship teams heading off to Hungary and Mexico.
Details of the 2017 Championships
The 2017 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships will take place from 9th to 13th April, in the Brisbane Aquatic Centre in Chandler.
Over the five-day event, there will be plenty of action for you to enjoy, with action-packed heats every day from 11am, and exciting finals every evening from 7.30pm. Watch as champions are made and new stars make their name in this exciting sport!
See all your Swimming Heroes!
Kids and adults alike will love watching the likes of Mack Horton, Kyle Chalmers, and Emma McKeon and her 4x100m freestyle relay teammates as they swim live in front of them!
Spot 2015 World Champions Bronte Campbell, Emily Seebohm and Mitch Larkin, all racing their best to defend their titles.
You will also have the chance to see our Paralympic gold medallists Maddie Elliott, Lakeisha Patterson, Ellie Cole, Tim Disken and Brenden Hall, who will be competing for their spot on the Paralympic World Championship team going to Mexico.
Centre Lane at the Championships
‘Centre Lane’ is the place to enjoy food and fun at the Championships! Here, you can enjoy:
- Food trucks — a great range of food trucks selling food and drinks for a great picnic by the pool
- Music — so you can kick back and relax to some great tunes
- Activities — activities for kids and adults alike to enjoy
- Merchandise — head to the arena store for all the latest swimwear and swimming merchandise
Centre Lane will be open every day from 9.30am and every evening from 5.30pm, so come along for food and fun before heading inside for a thrilling session of racing.
