How the system works
QUT Health Clinics was established to give medical students practical placement experience in order to attain accreditation in their chosen profession. As such, the facility is able to provide low-cost patient care by offering services delivered by students yet closely supervised by accredited health professionals. However, despite being a university clinic, academic staff from the Faculty also develop programs to deliver to the community without student involvement. In addition, members of the public are able to book appointments with accredited health practitioners from QUT as you would in private practice. So patients who may not feel comfortable receiving student care can still access the full range of clinic services.
