Shopping with kids. Doesn't sound scary, does it? Well, if it doesn't that's because you haven't had to go clothes shopping (for yourself) with a two year old who has just learned to say "Get out of here".

I have no idea how my parents coped when they took us shopping, but I know that things must be easier today. Parents' rooms, playgrounds, child minding in shopping centres make shopping with young children so much more convenient. I'm just not sure whether the availability of video game arcades in the centres make it better or worse if you have older children - if you have an opinion on this, let me know.

Parent Rooms - Westfield Garden City have 4 fully equipped Parents Rooms with private feeding areas, nappy disposal bins, change tables with disposable mats, nappy dispensing machines, special child size toilets, plus comfy couches, TVs for parents and children and toddler playing areas. The Parent Rooms are located on the Upper Level in the food court and opposite Big W and on the Lower Level next to Just Jeans and Coles.

Kids' Strollers - Both single and double strollers are available free of charge for up to 3 hours. Book ahead by phoning Customer Care on 07 3349 7744 or simply visit the Customer Care on the Lower Level near Coles or Concierge on the Upper Level outside Terry White Chemists.

Kiddie Kabs - Westfield Garden City has fun Kiddie Kabs to keep the kids entertained! You can choose from a single Kiddie Car ($5.00 for 1 hour or $10.00 for 2 hours) or a double Kids Car ($7.50 for 1 hour or $15.00 for 2 hours). Kiddie Kabs are available from the Concierge Desk and Customer Care.

Kids Shopping Trolleys – Westfield Garden City also has exciting kids shopping trolleys to amuse the kids while grocery shopping! Kids Shopping Trolleys are available from the Concierge Desk for $3 an hour.

Playworld - Westfield Garden City’s Playworld is free and open to children aged 1-5 years old with parental supervision. The Playworld is located on the Upper Level outside Harvey Norman.

Westfield Kids Club - Westfield Kids Club is open to children aged 12 years or under. Registered parents receive special offers and regular newsletters about upcoming kids and family entertainment in centre. We’ll also send the kids a welcome gift, a letter from Santa and a birthday card each year! To sign up, simply visit the Concierge Desk located on the Upper Level outside Terry White Chemists.
