Are you a rugby league family with a little one who just can’t wait to start playing footy? Yes – well the wait is over…
Little Footy Stars is Brisbane’s newest kids sports program, introducing 3-6 year olds to the wonderful world of rugby league.
Weekly classes are all about the Little Stars having fun with a football in their hand, with child friendly activities specially designed to improve gross motor skills, coordination, fitness and social skills.
Your Little Star will learn the basics of football including passing, kicking, tackling and playing the ball, in a fun, non-competitive and non-contact environment.
Classes are all held outside, so the kids also get the benefits of running around in the fresh air and rolling around in the grass – just like ‘big kid’ training.
The program is for both boys and girls, with classes broken into two age groups: Tiny Stars (3-4 year olds), and Little Stars (5-6 year olds), so you can be sure your child is playing football with other kids their own age.
All new Little Stars get a T-shirt and water bottle as part of their sign-on pack, and classes are cheap to ensure as many kids as possible can participate in the program.
Little Footy Stars classes are held on the north side of Brisbane at Arana Hills (Mondays and Saturdays), Albany Creek (Thursdays) and Lawnton (Wednesdays), on the south side at Woodridge (Tuesdays) and Ipswich on Mondays. Classes will start in more locations later in the year – stay tuned.
The program kicks off in term 2 (mid-April after the Easter school holidays), and classes will run all year round during Queensland school terms.
So whether you have a budding rugby league football star on your hands, or just want to get you kids involved in sport at an early age, sign them up now to a Little Footy Stars class near you.
