Wivenhoe Dam..For a day trip

Wivehoe Dam: The Facts

small beachy area the kids can play on and get their feet wet….with lots of grassy areas and 2 playgrounds along with a cafe and walking track! The playground is not all that fancy, but it is in good condition and the kids will enjoy it and it fits the natural feel of the park. On a Sunday if people head out they can also check out Fernvale Bakery, well known & award winning, and the Fernvale markets for some fresh local produce! The best part about heading to Wivenhoe lake is the huge amount of room for your Brisbane Kids to be able to run around and inhale some beautiful fresh air.

Wivenhoe Dam: The Facts

There are 2 large toilet blocks with Disabled toilet facilities, an abundance of covered tables and benches and BBQ’s. The toilets are very well looked after and there is plenty of parking for cars and buses. If you would prefer to head somewhere where the kids can’t possibly run away then make sure you check out our list of Fenced Brisbane Parks. That said, we think you wont have any worries in this huge space that is Wivenhoe Dam.

Wivenhoe Dam is a gorgeous relaxing place to go for families, with plenty of space!
